Friday Freebie: Craving Making!

October 15, 2010

Since I am temporarily one handed, of course I am craving to make something.  The other day in Open Studio at ArtWorks (www.artworks-edmonds.org), I dyed little paper price tags with Adirondack brand alcohol inks.  The colors are so vibrant and when you add drops of rubbing alcohol or their brand of  ‘blending solution’, the colors run and soak to the backside of the paper.  Really gorgeous and each side looks different!  With a lot of help from two handed artist and friend, Deborah Taylor, I also added black image transfers onto the tags.  I love the end result and have many ideas for them beginning with jewelry, book making and fabric.

Since it’s the time of year that usually inspires me to think about cozy stuff like knitting bags to be felted I am sharing a blog that may inspire your winter nesting instincts, too:  http://totallytutorials.blogspot.com/
