Open Studio at ArtWorks

June 11, 2010

I love Fridays at ArtWorks.  It’s Open Studio and people come to work on their art and keep each other company.  It’s like an Art Spa – a whole day of making art, doing your own thing without distractions, procrastination, or lame excuses to do something else instead.  Plus there is all the room that anyone could need there.

I find I’m very inspired seeing what other artists are working on.  Sometimes it’s their color palette or some shape they’re using.  It makes me want to get working.  Sometimes it’s just a great day for experimentation or getting to do things that you’ve always wanted to do but didn’t have the space or time.    I also find that Open Studio keeps me from overworking things.  It’s having the company and comraderie that helps with that.

If you can’t come to Open Studio Art Spa at ArtWorks consider creating your own wherever you are.  It’s worth every moment of artistic richness.

It is that “company and comraderie” that gets me everytime.
You are indeed blessed beyond words.
    Have a great weekend!
