Wanted: Business Manager for Artist

May 26, 2010

I need a business manager and I think most artists do. Even a personal manager would do.   Unfortunately, most of us may not be making enough money to warrant the expense of adding another person into our income stream.   Ahhh, so you think!

In this day and age it’s possible to employ an art agent, business manager or rep part time or on a consulting basis.   This could go a long way toward to getting you where you want to go.   Even a single consultation session can take you quite a way towards your goals or if you’re experiencing the need for feedback in a business situation.   Sometimes artists don’t get the ropes when it comes to how things are done in business and this can lead to lost opportunities.

Resources for consultation include:

A great article on which managers do what:

A GREAT resource for visual artists that everyone should get:

www.artisttrust.org – get Artist Assets, a downloadable .pdf, though it’s mostly about resources in WA state, it will give you an idea of services to look for in other places.

I hope this helps!
