Resources for Artists in Business

April 26, 2010

It’s hard being the creator, manufacturer, purchasing agent, inventory specialist, accountant, bookeeper and all the things you need to be to be an artist in business and still be inspired to do your work.  So with that in mind, I’ve collected some great resources to share with you that might help you on your path.  Each site has something to offer whether it be hard business info, inspiration or a good collection of ideas, visuals, odds and ends.  I hope you find something worthy to you:

For business topics, financial planning and more go to

Here’s an interesting article interviewing artists about being in the business of art.  There are some good thoughts from each here:

Definitely read this one for the thoughts about inspiration:

A different sort of inspiration is to be had from National Public Radio.  The very cool sneak-peek of the three minute fiction submissions can be heard, read and seen at:

Have fun and know that new seeds of ideas are hidden here.
