Organization Equals Creativity

February 19, 2010

There are some great organizational quotes out there:

“Don’t agonize, organize.”  – Florynce Kennedy

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan,
in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act.  There is no other route to success.
— Stephen A. Brennan —
find it helps to organize chores into categories:

Things I won’t do now.
Things I won’t do later.
Things I’ll never do.
— Cartoon Strip: Maxine —
I find that if things are organized I can create more.  Why is that?  Partly because I can find what I need to create with, partly because I’m not agonizing over missing things, forgetting important stuff that I need to remember, and I know that my creating time is safe from all of that chaos.  Chaos sucks energy.  Organization allows you to have your energy to do with it what you will.
I’ve recently discovered an amazing tool that is helping me keep things under control better.  It’s a program called OneNote.  I live here in Microsoft land (Seattle) and didn’t even know about this program until recently though it is an MS product.  Now that I’ve worked with it a bit I see how amazing and useful it is.   I can also see how Microsoft has been able to be so productive!
More about OneNote tomorrow.
