Paper Castles

February 10, 2010

I admire great paper art especially after being a Visual Communications student in graphic design back in the 80’s.  My graphic design teacher, Fred Griffin, was obsessed with using cut paper for everything.  We studied Wucious Wong, we had to create advertisements with nothing but an Xacto knife and paper in black in white and minimal illustrative elements.  I know what it takes to practice precision cuts, not cut too far or too short, to get the desired result so when I saw this it blew my socks off:

Amazing paper crafted castle!

Isn’t that something? I can’t imagine how much time it would take to put something like this together.  Wow.

The lights really add to the detail of it, too.  To see a close up of this castle, go to: http://tokyobling.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/paper_craft_castle_1.jpg

Just think if this were a real place to live.  Who cleans all those rooms?  Maybe that would be where the new invention thought up by Boris (John) Kulesa comes in?  It’s the “Sham Wow Slap Chop Wonder Mop”…  omigod that’s funny.

Another amazing paper castle.

Anyway, if you want to see more of this incredible paper art see:
